Our production partner keeps a 1,200 m² showroom next to the plant. It is not a warehouse with racking — it is built like a store, because the question a buyer actually has is not “can you make this” but “what does a bay of this look like on my floor”.
Every set is torn down and rebuilt for the next drop, so what you walk through in March is the assortment landing in October. Come and see it; we will meet you at Xiamen airport and book the hotel.
The garden bay is the widest line we run — stakes, wall art and spinners in powder-coated iron. It is also the easiest to re-colour for a retailer's own palette.
Home pieces are shown in a furnished set rather than on a rack, so you can read scale against a sofa and a side table instead of against a dimension line.
Each seasonal bay goes up about eleven months before it hits Western shelves. If you are walking the Christmas set, you are looking at next Christmas — which is exactly when the decision has to be made.
Tell us roughly when, and which drops you are buying for — we will have those sets standing and the samples pulled before you land. Most buyers do it in a day either side of the Canton Fair.
